Kia's are piles of sheet

Bought a used Kia Soul that had a bad timing chain and thought this would be an easy job to do. Boy are these and the new Hyundai engines big old piles of shit. I cannot believe in this day and age theses parts are such junk. A chain and tensioner that dies in less then 100K, WTF. These clowns should have stayed with the timing belt every 60K as my old '05 Hyundai Accent is still kicking, but these new cars with their fancy engine shit makes me laugh. Put in a new chain and the engine is still noisy. I can see why Kia and Hyundai have such poor reviews over their engines now. They are as bad as the 1st gen LS engines were when they 1st came out and GM would not take care of their problems either. After I pedal this I will get me a used Honda again. Always got a million miles out of my old Honda's.

What do you expect from a car company who's initials are Killed In Action?
I could tell about my adventures with KIA cabs in So. Korea back in the 80's but it would take a long time to type.
Short version, the So. Koreans did not believe in tow trucks nearly so much as waiting for a mobile mechanic (On a bicycle!) to make repairs.

I drove it today and the drive seemed ok. Still has a slight knock in there and I know if my old service manager was still at the Kia I worked for once I would get a free engine, but he's gone and I 'm not sure about the new guy but I know they put engines in like cord wood. Hell, if the gave me a new engine to put in myself I do that in a heartbeat.
