5 Speed for sale on Face market place, does anyone have an idea what kind of 5 speed this trans is ?
Just eyeballing it and wondering what. It looks like a foreign car trans like a Nissan RWD would have ?

Thanks Cat,
I don't think so it doesn't have that shifter tube that runs down the top of the trans or at least it doesn't have the same eyeball as a tremec

I had a T5 in an 84 T/A that I put a 355 in that was at least 350hp prob more and it held up fine with 275/50 street tires but sticky tires might have broke it?

That adapter makes me think its a foreign car trans. FWIW the guy's asking 1500 and it looks sketchy anyway so I'm definately not interested in it any longer but I would just like to know what it is for information purposes.
Whatever it is I doubt it will hold up to any Chevy with any kind of muscle under the hood. And we and I should not waste any more time than that.

A friend put one in an LS swapped fox body Mustang. I think it's 3rd gear he has broken.

1st gear is super low ratio too.

Good enough for a cruiser, but not something that you would want to beat on.

You're right Derek, I looked up that trans & the gear ratio's are outrageous
---3.75 first, 2.26 second, 1.37 third, 1:1 fourth, and a . 73 overdriven fifth gear ---
the guy wants $1500 ??? ..... he's sick
That split between 1st and 2nd is crazy that's almost 1.50 - wow it must feel like you've hit a nasty headwind after you shift into 2nd. ???

Does it "Package" a little smaller than a T5?
If so it may be useful for not a V8 conversions seeking an OD.
If it is the same or larger is is useless.

It looks about the same size or a little bigger than a T5 but did you see the picture in the first post or the gear ratios ? in the post right before yours ?

A TKX is the only way to go. A car is a PITA to drive without a good trans
I agree you need a good trans, does it have to be a TKX though? 🙂 Edit I was going to put a 5 speed in our 68 but Kathy’s never drove a stick, now she can’t drive at all butI already put a good 4 spd auto in, I do like manual trans 🙂👍👍

There's no other trans except for the slightly stronger, bigger T56 6 speed Magnum ? The Magnum costs about $500 more.
The T5 is plentiful and cheap (and weak).
People are selling the old TKO 600 for less, but the case is bigger and requires more tunnel cutting, plus it tends to not shift well.
The TKX was designed to replace the TKO and fix those problems.
