What Kind of 5 Speed is this Trans ?

Well if it’ll handle 600hp & 600tq maybe worth beefing up a little, otherwise I wouldn’t waste any time or $$$
It's a lot stronger than I thought, but the gear ratios are a killer.
There was also a note about replacement parts being the price of a new trans.
Manual transmissions are disappearing, so I doubt the TKX will ever be replaced.

There is one other option I forgot about. The T56 6 speed in a LS Camaro 1998-2002.
It's bigger than a TKX ( and smaller than a T56 magnum) but it has great gear ratios.
I have one that I'm hanging onto. 2.62 1st gear with double overdrive - .50 final OD.
It requires a lot of extras like a "Cable-X" adapter to convert the electric speedometer to a cable drive.
It also needs a $250 adapter plate and a special $50 pilot bearing.
I have all of this and I'm keeping it in case I want to get rid of the 4L80e in my Camaro. :)

I've got the early version of the T56, a 1996 LT1, and it's 6th gear is kinda useless unless you've got a small cam and doing over 70. That's with 4.10 gears, imagine if you had 3.55s, it'd jump to around 75mph. Those T56s have a huge body, and require trans tunnel work, a hydraulic slave clutch and an adapter flywheel to mount up to an Mark IV bbc, or a first gen sbc. Those and the items you mentioned. It's a big swap, and the only reason I did it is it was next to free for the tranny, clutch and slave/master cylinder. I loved it for long enough and it's been in two of my chevelles, but since the TKX came out, that's the better choice.

Pretty sure I've posted this same response, so don't think I'm losing it if you've heard it before.
