Fastrack

I do all my own alignments with a torpedo level, angle finder, string, and a long stick of all-thread, coupled at the end to measure toe.
 
Now that’s what I’m talking about. It’s a skill I’m looking to learn at least for the old cars that don’t get a ton of miles. But I don’t want to invest in expensive tools you’d only use a handful of times.
 
I still have 1 shop that builds hot rods I want to contact about alignment before buying something I'll only use maybe once, shops around here don't seem to have a clue when it comes to old cars with modern or after market suspension
 
It could, but just holding a stick up in between your wheels gives me a great visual and it's similar to using a feeler gauge....feel is everything. Also, a 3/8-16 all-thread is one revolution to each 1/16", so by clocking your rod coupler, it's perfect for measuring. Technology has it's place.
 
After this dishwasher project Im buying the Fastrax 91000 and the 91100 attachment and making the toe in/out plates, then I can adjust till Im happy and be happy to loan it to other members just pay round trip mail 👍🙂

Just thought of another great use for the laser tape.
Shoot a parallel line from the front tire to the rear tire. The line should touch both sides of the rear tire and front tire. Then set your toe-in to 1/8"
Would that get you close ?

I have a laser measuring tool and a cpl months ago put a new battery in it, checked it and is working fine I just have to remember where I put it lol, its an inexpensive B&D but would be fine for this type job I think
 
Track on front usually is wider than the rear.
My car has a 1/4” spacer in the rear end from having a 3 series gear & 2 series carrier and 4 whl disc brakes, on a side back in the early 80’s I had a 75? Nova hatch back with a 26? SBC & 4 spd and I always thought it felt funny driving so one day my friend was following me in a rain storm and when we got where we were going told me my car was side tracking and check my rear view mirror for tire tracks in the rain when we left, the next week I swapped it on a nice looking 56 Dodge truck (2 piece hood folded up from each side) a newer 318 & 3 on the tree and mag wheels😁

I can find a can find a center line to measure from I think then do a little adding/subtracting 👍🙂
 
I use Fastrack, works great!
Don't bother with their toe adapters though.

Turn plates help a lot as well, so you can turn the 15deg angles accurately.

I was reading at OCS using 2 pieces of 12”x12” stick down floor tiles with grease between them for a floor plate, guy says it works great, I just blew up your pic and see it has a degree gauge, guess Ill need those then
 
I did that for a few years before I got the turn plates. It worked OK, just couldn't accurately determine your steering angle quickly.

The more caster you run, the more critical that accuracy gets.

Yours being also a track car would seem critical but for just a street car you think it's really needed?
