What’d you work on today?

Went to my atty house and added 3 lbs of Freon to the downstairs system, so old can’t read the numbers but guessing 13+ yrs old so I gave him a Hell of a Deal price to replace a 3 ton heat pump outside and 3.5 ton air handler inside under $5,900 and he thought it would be $4K 🤣 that’s what I’m charging for the 2 ton ac unit upstairs and not a H/P, I said to get some other quotes7D785033-6899-48A9-9709-B56A42A4C0AE.jpeg

Opened up the Husky 26 gal compressor over where my Chevelle is parked to check start & run capacitors, ordered them through Home Depot for $23 👍🙂 that screw on the fan was very loose and looks like a screw is missing so a little more investigating is in order

I had a chance to see how the 3,600 Lock Up stall convertor worked today by finally being able to take the Chevelle on I-275 and of course my tach decided to take a break again 😂 but sure seemed close to rpm’s of my DD’s 👍👍🙂

What a moron. But that price is so low, I'm sure he will come back and want your deal.
Then you should tell him you just got a notice that the manufacturer has raised prices 10% (which will still be under anyone else's bid).

Upgrading the rear suspension on my buddies Lotus with new adjustable shocks and an adjustable lower link with rod ends.
Rod ends are narrower than the old rubber bushings.
I hate stacks of washers and have a lathe.
So I've made custom spacers for it.

Welp, I had hopes of just dropping in the new LiFePO4 batteries into Lisa's XT-500 electric UTV and waiting until winter to fix it up and do some upgrades but that wasn't to be. After a closer inspection the frame is cracked from being weakened from the battery acids over the years (35 years), so I decided to strip it now and repair the bad section of frame (custom making a new section of frame and welding in new braces in the existing frame. I figure while I'm at it I might as well do all the upgrades now since I have to strip it down to the frame to repair it. It's getting a 4" lift, and I'll weld a new custom bed out of 1/8" diamond plate I bought for it 2 years ago. I'll also build all new battery trays while I'm at it. Here's the breakdown so far.

Might I suggest a tri-5 cart. My cousin's buddy did a sweet 57 and a 55 nomad which he brings both to the swap meets. Fun 😊

It'd be fun if I didn't have anything else to do (notice the 2 convertibles in the background screaming to be worked on), plus it's Lisa's UTV so it goes in the woods, hauls dirt and plants and is just generally a work machine for her, so I'll keep it as a UTV.

Exchanged a couple of bolts for Lotus suspension to get better length.

And bought two more fruit trees, Nectarine and Plum. This winter I want to dig out a Nectarine that is oddly shaped and stunted.
I will bring it up to the house and put the new one in it's place.
Plum goes at the end of my row, hoping with two I may see decent fruit yields.
Last year I got exactly one Plum. It was good!

First year or two don't yield much fruit and they are usually smaller, but after year 3 and 4 years with care and fertilizer, they will put out like a french whore. Lisa got a peach tree 3 years ago (still in a huge pot but more like 1/2 55 gallon drum) and this year the peaches were huge and sweet and a plenty to the point 1 branch had to be held up with a shepards hook. She got more than enough to make some peach pie and peaches with ice cream and she'll can the rest.

One more thing I did this week, not exactly today.
Got back on my Atkins/KETO/Primal diet.
So of course everywhere I go the high carb snacks to sabotage me are on every aisle and end cap.
I've learned that dieting is all about the willpower, no matter what the diet may be.
Wanting to lose another twenty-five pounds.
Should do some good for my decrepit back, which I really need, to let me get in and out of my Lotus much easier.

Maybe a mock Mack truck front with the big Bulldog?

Hell I was diagnosed with Celiac in 2015 after loosing over 20lbs, passing dark blood and after spitting some red blood went to the dr, lost over 30lbs since then and being a thin guy anyway really sucks, mid to high 160’s to mid 130’s buck nak’d 😖

Nah, can't see wasting valuable time on it when so many other things need attention. If it were something like we lived in a golf cart community it'd be fun to make something different, but the cart is used heavily carrying dirt, rocks, mulch, plants, and all kinds of stuff Lisa uses for all her plants and stuff.

Get her one of these.
