Chevelle or Camaro

Oh boy....that's going to make parting with the chevelle really tough. Having both sitting side by side, complimenting each other....it'll be near impossible to break 'em up. Congrats on the Camaro though, striking car.

Thanks, yes that Camaro is very unique. Bring it sold new in Scottsdale, is still a numbers car with all the paperwork makes it special and then you add factory AC on a convertible. I have looked online and can’t find a 69 RSSS Convertible with AC for sale or even recently sold within past few years which is why it was hard to put a value on the car. There is a hardtop hugger orange with AC in Mecum Glendale auction in March but doesn’t say if it is a numbers car or not.

I've always really liked both, but having bought a new '67 Chevelle SS with the L78 back in the day, my heart goes to that car (the '67 Chevelle). I had a friend at GM who bought a new '67 Camaro Z28 (yes, 1 of the 602 built!) and it was really something....WOW! But, I'd take the Chevelle over the Camaro for various reasons, one of the main reasons being I'd much prefer the coil springs over leaf springs in the rear of the Camaro. I still love Camaros however, especially the ones with the vent windows!

I did just find out that the Camaro 2022 Nationals will be held this July 14-16 in Morgantown, PA, and they will be highlighting the L78 Camaro this year, so I am planning on attending that one!!! :)

I would Trade my 67 BBC for a Black/Brown Stripes RS/SS 69 Camaro 327 SBC any day of the Week
like the one in Post # 7

Not a big convertible fan so I'd keep the 67. I also like the full frame and 4 link on the rear. The larger size is nice also, camaros are small. Both are nice though.

I have always wanted a Camaro, a droptop would be fun to run around in. I am partial to the looks of the Late 70's models more so than any others. The newer ones look like an elephant sat on them.

I don't care for the newer Camaros, but my favorite year for the Camaro is '70 / '71, and I really like the split front bumper. I don't like the styling changes that started in '74.

I won't buy one now as they are too low to the ground and getting out is more of a chore.

So what are you trying to say????

:giggle:

Well, I ain't no fat bastard, but getting older sucks!

That bending down stuff to get in a car isn't fun anymore.
Every muscle in my body hurts from working on the camper the other day, I had to crawl, lift, pull and I don't know how many countless more maneuvers not to mention standing, sitting and laying down.

The youngun saw me doing all the work, she knew I was tired but I proved to her this old man can still do it. And I proved it to my self. What hurts the worse are my knees, gravel sucks!

I joked with Lisa alot telling her after I used to work on the cars (before the lift), and I'd tell her, "I feel like a french whore... up, down, up, down, up, down". I feel accomplished after work is done, but I always pay the price the following day and tell myself "Boy, you ain't young no more, quit being stupid and take your time. Rome wasn't built in a day", but the youthful brain pushes me, and I gotta get it done just to prove I still got it.

Unfortunately the taller the vehicles the harder it is to work topside too. The bending over the hood bothers me more than under the car stuff. A lift would be nice for certain things. The getting up from the ground is exercise.

I made a board that would lay across the front of the fenders that had pads for the fenders (not to scratch) and a couple where I would lean over or even kneel on to work on under the hood. I'd use a stepladder to climb up and get down.

My son has the board now since I don't have anything that big anymore.

What wear me out the most is a grab a 14mm wrench, crawl under and it is a 15mm. I then climb out grab the 15mm, slide back under, misplace the 14mm or it ends up under me, I lean up to find the wrench I do not need and crack my head on an extrouding piece of metal all to find that I needed a 16mm and out I go again. If I take all 3 under I end up not being able to find them. Then there is the tool I had 3 seconds ago that goes missing. I can be under the hood and the same thing happens. Damn tool gnomes!

Don't feel bad, I have a lift and I've lost tools, walked into the support bars or runways a number of times.

One time I hit my head so hard on the lift I found myself sitting on the floor, so I must have knocked my own lights out.

At least rolling around under the car I can take a nap :)

Yeah, just something about that doesn't make me feel all that comfortable.

If I want to nap, I find my corner theater chair in the great room, drop it into 5th gear and snooze, but mostly if I feel like napping, I'll go into the bedroom and get really comfortable.

Well car was delivered last Friday. Still have some more detailing to do but spent two days wheeling it out and polishing it. Nice driver car, fun car to drive and don’t think I have ever owned a car that gets as much attention as this one. Oh and my boys approve. 😆

It's purdy! Your son in the front seat is like "Dad Rules" and this car is mine when I go out on my first date.
