Age old argument, usually a protestant thing while waiving the Bible in one hand. Not sure it's ever been won.

One thing for sure is the  spirit of the zealotry we read of in the New Testament is that same spirit of zealotry we see today in the church which in the end will be found to be against the mission of the Kingdom of God.
True change begins from within and if you want to know the laws which govern the Kingdom of God, the King of that Kingdom laid it all out in Matthew chapters 5-7.
Notice the warning of Jesus in Matthew 7:21-23 and compare that with Exodus 20:7, as far as taking His name in vain.

Love the beatitudes. Strong message. What did the church teach? It takes guts to say yes to Jesus. Are you one of Gods elect? Was this to fight or sharpen swords? Exodus 20:13 and also Mat. 5-7

The church taught the same as the Lord said. That is until around the time of Augustine. But the apostles and the students of the apostles carried on His teachings. There were many who did not, whom you can read about in Revelation chapters 2 and 3.

This has to be the most obtuse thread ever.
If you don't know what obtuse means, it's because no one knows what this thread means either
:ROFLMAO:

Oh.
Yeah, I thought you were trying to make a point about eschatology.
Are you thinking about voting for a few republicans ?
Inquiring minds want to know
:)
After all, democrats have made it clear they want to burn the country down.
Are you finally going to join us ?

Republican, democrat, independent; the titles mean little to me. Issues are more important. Do you say one thing and do another? If yes, your off my list for your lack of integrity. A person is only as good as his/her word.
But that's just me.
