What’d you work on today?

Lawnmowers. I have two with Briggs motors. I had a Honda for a long time, that ‘s just one pull start for years then one day it doesn’t start and you throw it away because the repairs will cost more that it’s worth. Briggs requires constant maintenance. Got the push mower working but the riding mower needed carb gaskets. Showed Boy69 how to disassemble and clean a small engine carb. Float bowl was rusty inside.

Ordered the parts for the Seven - wide track kit for the front, new dampers, new side skin. The shop that ordered for me gets a container with full kits a couple times a year (the only way to import a new one is in kit form otherwise they would have to pass all the crash testing and other crap) so theyre going to put it in the same container to cut the shipping cost. Should be June when I get everything.

Ordered a header for the CRX. Doesn’t seem like a big deal but speed parts are unobtainable for the torsion bar Hondas. I found a place that will build one for me for a reasonable price and I jumped on it because next week they might not be offering that. Looking for an intake, there is an adapter plate available that enables use of later D Series intakes which are much less restrictive, then I can swap the throttle body out for one from an S2000 I think it is which will make the engine breathe much better. Then I can start on building the engine with the spun bearing. Changes to the existing engine should add 10-15hp which doesn’t sound like much but is when you consider that Street Prepared rules don’t allow internal modifications and this one started with 91. Boy69 and I are going to pull the transmission soon to figure out what’s going on with the driveline. It shakes like crazy letting out the clutch.
Sorry if I missed the story behind the CRX or maybe you’ve not told it before, but what are the plans? It’ll be a “stock” motor racer? I’m very intrigued. That was my dream car during the later half of highschool. They were pretty popular but I never got one sadly.

New batteries just came for Lisa's electric UTV (EZGO XT-500). I was going to use the 2 LiFePO4 300ah batteries left over from battle cruiser and buy one more to complete the 36v power supply needed, but would have had to build a new frame for the UTV to accommodate the huge size of the 300ah batteries, so I elected to buy 6 new Group 24 12v LiFePO4 batteries that are almost identical (a little physically smaller) than a standard 6v golf cart battery. Came to $1,137.00 and I figure it's money well spent since I don't have to modify her UTV at all, just drop the batteries in and she's ready to go. The sooner I get stuff done around the house, the sooner Ii get to work on my cars and trucks, and that's what building this new place was all about. Here they are getting their first charge.

Those ones I bought didn't come with a charger but they did come with a whole page of stickers, could give them to the grand kids & piss mom off.:D

Last time we have our grandson stickers, Lisa got an earful from our daughter because the stickers were on everything including the dog and her car. We thought it was funny as hell, but Michelle didn't think so. 😁

Yesterday brought Pam to carry class, took most of the day. She was nervous to go but I think she enjoyed it, especially when we went to the range.
Some people think they get a deal when the go & takes 30 minutes & $30 to do the class. The guy that does it up here goes through the whole scenario about what happens if you have to use your gun against someone. Can't do that in 30 minutes.

Been there.

Started life as a 1985, now it’s a 1987. My aunt bought it new in 1985 to use for her business. Six months later she started participating in autocross events. Then in 1994 she had a cage installed and started club racing in Improved Touring. Totaled it in 1996 at Thunderhill and was out for a year and a half, took all the speed bits and engine and swapped them into an 87 body. Then sometime around 2002 my uncle rolled it at Sears Point and that’s when it got the 87 body it has now (and the drivers door is red on the inside, so there was another wreck). My uncle passed away in 2012 and she retired and I bought the car from her. I‘ve been autocrossing and the occasional HPDE until the drivetrain
messed up. The original 85 engine spun a bearing at Memphis International in 2016.

Engine is completely stock except for some allowed mods like cold air intake, emission control delete, and low restriction cat. Going to add a header and intake. It’s got aftermarket suspension bits. Internal engine mods are limited. Last engine dynoed at 93HP, hope to get the rebuilt one to 115-120.

Took 12 golf cart batteries down to Napa along with the battery from the ditch witch. The ditch witch battery is tired and only at 65%, so it was having a tough time turning the diesel engine over. 25 minutes later, 12 lead acid batteries lighter, 1 new battery for the ditch witch and the owner (good guy) tried to give me $25 back for the battery cores, but I told him to keep it. I got rid of the old batteries and got a new one without laying out any cash, so for me it was a win / win. He smiled and said, "Thanks buddy".

I replaced a bad blower motor in a system I installed in 2012 for a GM trans mechanic that was a good friend of my old friend that died last year, I had forgot all about him when I was looking for a built 200r4 but he’s got cancer and been through chemo and now 3 days a week dialysis so hes not doing trans work anymore, he has a bad rodent problem in his attic and I was eaten by Fleas when I went up to pull the blower assembly out but after replacing the motor I sprayed flea & tick spray on my clothes and OFF on my skin and wasnt bothered when I went back up in the attic, I told him get the rodent & flea problem taken care of and we can give a price to replace the torn up ducts

When I did rehab work for the federal government back in the early 90s, all of the houses I dealt with were vacant and had broken windows with cats and rodents roaming free inside. First thing I did was board the windows and doors, try to get any cats out, then bombed the entire building with no less than 15 to 20 bombs starting in the attic, then to the basement, then the main floor working my way out. Soon as I was out of the place I stripped my clothes down to my underwear, bagged them, got in my truck in my underwear, drove home, left the clothes in a bag outside, and went inside and took a shower. Nasty as all getout. After I was done cleaning up, I'd set a bomb off in the bag (tying it back closed), then days later wash them at a laundrymat. What a process, but it worked every time. I incorporated all that into my cost because I didn't go back to that place for 3 days.

Kathy said I should go back and set off bombs in the attic and go back tomorrow to put the blower motor in, the blower ECM went bad and stuck ON so he had ac just blower on 24/7 and once I pulled the blower assembly out he had no air and him being really sick I couldnt leave it not running, spraying my clothes with Flea spray worked really good 🤣

If you set off bombs in the house the owner will have to leave. That shit is poisonous to humans and bugs alike. Since he can't bomb his place because he's there and not able to leave, you'll have to spray yourself again. Just make sure when you get home to change your clothes so you don't bring the fleas and bugs into your place. That'd be real bad for Kathy.

Already done deal 👍🙂 Oh no bombs set off just sprayed myself with Dog Flea spray got the job done and changed clothes in the detatched garage 🙂

So I've been working on the zero turn mower battery upgrade and ran into a snag where the stud on the side of the motor snapped most likely from being weak and I had to order (of all things) a set of solid copper toilet flange bolts. Seems no one carries solid copper bolts anymore and I ordered them from feebay. I fixed the motor last night and hooked up all the wiring, but the motor wouldn't start. Okay, now I'm pissed. The batteries went into limp mode because the BMS thought the load was too high. So doing some research last night led me to believe the BMSs were not performing to their ratings, so this morning I cracked open the cases and disconnected the BMSs in each battery, and wouldn't you know I proved my point that the BMSs were indeed the problem. I sent a nastygram to the seller (power queen) on amazon and let them know I caught the bullshit they have been selling with the video (link below) to prove it. I'm quite sure they will come up with some kind of bullshit excuse, but the numbers don't lie. I'll most likely buy aftermarket BMSs that actually work and install them in the cases myself.

Here's the mower running.....

Speaking of Itch Im so tore up from those fleas in the attic yesterday all Ive been doing is rub Benadryl all over my back, stomach, under my arms and legs, taking Kathy to our primary dr tomorrow and Im going to ask her after she checks Kathy if she can give my some meds so I dont catch a damn disease from the fleas, this is just 1 small area

Yesterday I accidentally bought a 2-post lift that is missing the pump.
Miscommunication, the seller had it listed on FB for $0.
Since it was incomplete and laying in the dirt along with "I want it out of my yard" that seemed a fair price.
AFTER hiring a guy to help me and getting it on the trailer the seller ask, "So how much are you giving me for it?".
I'm like "WTF?"
If it had not been such a "Kamela" to load I would have taken it back off and left it.
So I'm out $500 for a lift that could be made fully functional for about another $500.

TODAY I've put it up on FB, CL, and feeBay for $600 to get my money back out of it ASAP.

Past few days been working toward installing the Vintage Air in 67 Chevelle.
The evaporator is ready to mount under the dash. Kick panel (pass side) has been modded for 4 ea hoses to pass through the kick panel up thru the blower motor hole.
Had to buy extra heater hose and adapters to run under the pass side fender.
I hope it's not a terrible PITA to run the ac hoses (size 6 and 10) up thru the kick panel and out the blower motor cap that is under the fender ? This may require a "snake" to guide it thru.
Had to paint the kick panel bright blue to match interior. Letting it dry overnight; hopefully I won't scratch it up running hoses thru it.
Interior will be white seats with bright blue carpet and trim.
I have to get this done before installing the front inner fenders.
Then it's on to the AAW wiring harness in the engine compartment.
The heads are ready to install on the engine, so I just need the wiring harness in place before dropping in the engine/trans assembly.
