Think an original Pas side trim in decent quality is worth $100? I’m done with repop Shit for this trim

A member from OC is or has mailed me an original for me to look at and make an offer, very nice people in Ohio with a 68 SS396 vert, 68 SS396 HT and an L78 Survivor 69 SS396, I think they’re all survivors, Ann and Dave, and an original 34 Ford driver, they said when I get it make an offer and I’m not going to be low but don’t want to be stupid either, I’ll post a pic when I get it, mailed out Monday

Don't know, but if the remakes are crap I have a problem.
I’ve dealt with 2 sets from SS396 Ground Up that we’re about 1 year apart and both sets are flat with No contour for the fender, my first body shop and an old friend had me order parts Way too soon and it was well past being able to return parts by the time for install, I called them again and said they didn’t fit and if the problem had been resolved and told it was so I reordered then got the same Crap, called them again and bitch on the phone said “And you bought from us again” Laughing while she said that so I’ll Never spend another Red Cent there and I’ve spent over $3K just with them for my parts, Carid is another one, I ordered AMD full quarters, both full doors and 1 fender and got Goodmark but 1st body shop guy said they were OK, then he gave up on my car 1 year later

Now that is the old school OCS way of doing things! I've been sender and recipient of deals like that back when the site was good.

Eyebrow molding came, what’s a fair price that would also cover their shipping cost? It’s driver quality with a little bit of “Curb Rash”? like a wheel that rubbed a curb, looks too deep to buff out, The molding Beth posted looks in better condition but I already have this, buy the molding Beth posted for $50 & Free shipping and send this back is what I'm thinking

Sounds like the best path especially since the people who sent that moulding won't be offended if you return it

Another one got posted and looks pretty good, but it's an auction with no "buy it now" option. Oh well

I'm going to buy the first one you posted and send this one back (y) :) Ordered it and says it should be here by 6/26 (y) $53.50 after taxman

It’s funny when we bought the car 12-13 yrs ago I told Kathy I’ll have it together and driving in a cpl months and I was being serious and we only were thinking Daily Driver 🙄 funny how plans change and time flies

It is anodized, so you'll have to remove that and polish away. I've never bought the real liquid stuff but I've tried aerosol EasyOff with 0 results. I've heard other testimonials supporting this.
This is what I'd try, a liquid mix and bath the molding.....outside. The little hook at the top end is a dangerous catch for your buffer wheel.....steady as she goes!

I'm reading that polishing aluminum gives the brightest finish and anodizing gives less sheen.
So I would polish and clear it. Or polish and hand buff it every now and then.
Why pay $$ to anodize for a worse appearance ?

All this is oem, stripped, straightened, polished and reanodized. Initially it was a bit cloudy and I put a call into the anodizer and they explained the cloudiness goes away after several months.......yeah right I say. Well, it did, I really like it. That said, I never anodized the stuff on the '69 and it's a very slight bit shinier, but that goes away after awhile and you have to repolish by hand a bit. Easy to do, and not an issue imo on a classic that gets little use.

My 1st wife for a while was night shift supervisor at Florida Plating in the early 80’s and worked in the anodize shop but also got my chrome parts done for free, I won’t spend any time on the piece that came from Ann & Dave since the scratches are too deep to ever come out so when the EBay trim gets here I’ll polish it up, I know a guy that his profession is a polisher at a plating shop but I’m not paying to have this done, little Elbow Grease and polish and it’ll look as good as Used lol 😂

The molding Beth had posted from EBay is in Great cond, little bit of elbow grease and I think it’ll look almost New 👍👍🙂
