Door Lock Knobs - Correct Original Color?

I found these buttons on Ground Up, supposedly like the originals. Zinc platted chrome look. For a black vinyl interior, I seem to remember mine on my original '67 bought new in '67 as being "black", but then again it's been awhile! 🥴

Any thoughts?

Not sure but, I think it`s optional. I think they came the color of the interior but, you could put chrome on to dress it up.
From my memory anyway.

I've got both versions, chromed metal and colored plastic, for the '66 model.....they differ a bit, but they are both originals. Makes sense they offered both in '67 also.

Well my first ‘67 was not highly optioned with the only options being the L78 engine, 4-speed, 4.10 posi, push button radio, simulated wood grain steering wheel, rear antenna, and power steering. I’m betting it had black buttons! No gauges or other options. My current ‘67 is the base L35 engine but has multiple options including front disc brakes, power steering, all gauges with blinker Tach, bumper overriders, am/fm radio, etc and it has chrome door lock buttons. So they may be original?

This thread says they were color matched

I'm tempted to just paint my chrome ones black rather than buy new repops...the shipping would be a joke! I've seen a couple of supposedly original survivor '67 Chevelles that had black interior and they had black knobs.

Buuuuuut, I just looked at the few photos I have of my old Chevelle, and look at the door lock on the driver door....is that chrome? or just the sunshine reflection?

Agree. To ship anything is $12+. I try to buy at least $109 worth of stuff from Summit just to get the free shipping.

Looking closer at my old pics, I'm convinced the door locks were indeed chrome on my old black interior '67 SS. Plus, most everything on my current '67 SS are original as far as I know and the chrome knobs are not new looking, slightly worn.

Here's another old pic:

Looks Chrome to me

Those pics lack a mushroom tip imo, based on limited clarity. My oem knobs really don't prove anything, being '66 and since all gm lines used these knobs and chevy typically lacked the some upgrades say buicks received.
Here's an exert from the chevelle archives that list all bright appointments of a chevelle interior for '67, not listed under that catagory, but addressed in the lower area that just listed standard stuff.
