Neighbors Shooting After Dark

The neighbors at the end of the drive way (the wife is my wife's cousin) have been getting stranger and stranger, they seem to be building a compound. They have a habit shooting at night into a berm all sorts of weapons that just recently started. I have no issue with it but there is no consideration for others with the noise.

My daughter who is great in art and wood working built us a nice wooden house number sign out of cedar and we put it down by the road with 2 solar lights. Last night we cam back in after dark and stopped at the end of the drive to look at the sign and adjust the lights. Our Fusions have fog lights and are bright., when I got out of the car to adjust the lights on the sign and turn one on that was off I heard them shooting, around 8:30PM. My wife got out and looked at the other side of the sign and took a picture, after that we drove down to our house and backed into the drive off of the main driveway to unload the groceries. Well, the shooting stopped, I bet they thought we were the cops, both of us got a laugh out of it.

At around 11PM I put the dogs out back into our fenced yard and turned on our light, they were out for a few minutes an 2 to 3 more shots rang out. One of my dogs does not like the noise and came running back in. They are pissed still thinking the cops showed up.

This could get ugly, I am going to tell their asses off if they say anything,

They have been pissed ever since we built, 20 years ago. They hood winked my in-laws to pay for 1/2 of their driveway because it was down the easement never expecting their kids to move onto the land. When we built and used the drive they were no happy, in the agreement in the easement my in-laws signed 50% of the upkeep was supposed to be shared but we never signed anything like that so when we were given the land it was not in the deed. The neighbors goal was to buy up all of the land, he had a chance to buy the property behind him but was such an ass to the uncle who owned it over the price that the uncle sold it to his own son. The only other piece around is my SILs and she thinks he is an ass too, we will eventually buy that from her. The asses FIL is also part owner of the driveway because his property adjoins ours and he is a SOB too, it was his idea to take advantage of my in laws all those years ago, portrays himself to be a Christian but does the Devil's work.

I got a REALLY LOUD Harley if you want to borrow it and aim the open drag pipes towards them, they make noise, you make Louder noise, that's a Moto of mine lol

This might just be a temporary thing. Ammo isn't cheap.
When they have to restock they might lose interest.

That'll only instigate them to reciprocate.

If you're going to engage them, you need to get the upper hand and get them thinking you are crazier than they are and not afraid to go the distance.

We've had people here in Florida block access to the ugly neighbors property with barbed wire and fencing escalating to steel poles concreted in the access so there was no way for them to get to their property. A little extreme, but you get the idea.

I won't do it, I am better than that.

I was telling Lisa if it were us facing the problem you are, I'd go out at about 2am as close to their property / house and fire 3 shotgun blasts and stand there a few minutes and if they come out and ask what's going on, tell them the damn crickets were invading again and you were trying to kill the king cricket.

This resulted in Lisa making a mad dash for the bathroom to avoid peeing her panties.

One of our neighbors is about 100 yards from the corner of us & must have quite an arsenal. Goes in spurts & has some big ones blows off about 20 rounds in a row.

I was reading there’s a law on the books here in St Pete that you can build your own range in your yard, probably a very old law since there’s another newer law saying it’s illegal to fire a gun in city limits, maybe it was a county law I was reading, going to try to find it again this evening, our city & county are Not on the same page about much of anything Edit in the 70’s my dad put 2-3 phone books leaned up against the back of the shower stall and we could shoot from the living room through his bedroom, kitchen then bathroom lol PS I ever mention my dad liked whiskey with his beer 🤣

Hmmm, have you seen them wearing tin foil hat receptors? Maybe they are getting their programming from fucktard and crew? Either way they are probably looking to setup outdoor cameras via wifi.

We are waiting for cameras pointed at our house.

I suggest you look into clumping bamboo, but the only variety that will grow in your area is bambusa multiplex. Grows to 10' but very quick to establish itself in 60 to 90 days.
