Disappointed...
I've been around the site for quite a few years now... Not as long as some, but longer than others and to me, this site has been changing and not necessarily for the good. It seems to be losing the "community" aura it once had. People seem quick with a sharp tongue, let their "online egos" get...

Edgar T has been a member since late 2020 and was the “I don’t want to hear anyones politics” guy, but has to necrobump a 15 year old thread to make that point.
Edgar T was one of those in CE that was quite liberal and I called him out a few times on his liberal garbage, so I find it ironic that he doesn't want to hear about politics on OCS when he was interacting with others there.
That's a clear and concise definition of a hypocrite, but then who knows these days, liberals meanings and agendas change from moment to moment.

I don't know how he's doing, I haven't spoken to him since he got in a little water for calling Hillbilly's kids into a thread. Last time I was at OCS I got banned.

The post is still up in Bench Racing and getting longer by the minute. Quite a bit of friendly “agreeing minds” speaking out! Then there are the others of course.
I see it this way, CE was started with a purpose in mind. I think it was fine, and I certainly didn’t agree with several members, but tried to keep it civil.
The fact is this country is in dire straights (no not the band)! I see absolutely nothing wrong with getting political in a Current Events module on a public forum of members who generally have a common interest reason of being a member!
I don’t expect everyone to believe what I believe on any subject!...but what the hell is wrong with having a serious discussion on different beliefs!? Isn’t that generally a “good thing”?
I haven’t been a TC member as long as some but 2007 puts me in there as a relatively long time member. It’s always sad to lose an old friend, but if that happens - and likely will for some of us - isn’t that a good thing when we find more new friends elsewhere?
It’s TC’s loss for those of us who leave or at least reduce our attendance there.
I’m on the disagree side of their action to remove CE from the forum, as the current “overseers” are not making the site better IMO.

Seems like a common theme. Folks who mixed it up and got their shots in when it was easy to sit back and criticize, but now that their guy is in charge, suddenly think political speech should be avoided and is toxic. Hypocrites.
