Building Our Barndominium

This is enough to piss anyone off..... I bought a brand new LG french door fridge (on sale for $1,799 + tax) for the house and was installing it this morning (been sitting in the box for about 10 months or so) and go to install it and the sides are bulged to the point it doesn't fit in a standard opening properly, and when I mean properly, the right door won't open. That being said I don't like how far it sticks out into the kitchen cutting down space in the walkway. So, I ordered a new counter depth fridge this morning (being delivered on Monday) and I'll have to pull the LG out and I'll give it to my brother for his garage. That pissed me off bigtime. We already have a fridge (and freezers) for the shop. I bought 2 new upright self defrosting freezers for the storage / laundry / Lisa's craft room.

That'd piss me off too. Do they even make a fridge with SS sides or front only? I had my cabinets trimmed out with a floor to ceiling sidewall that covered a very similar fridge or else would have had the same problem. The right side door probably need 2 inches of clearance to open?? What's your solution?

Not sure if you can get a residential fridge with all sides SS. I think they only come all SS in the super high end stuff like $10k.

It needed 1" of clearance on the right side, but the bulge ate that up. I'd thought of moving the end cabinet over a bit (shifting the DW over) and then thought, fuck that noise, I'll just buy another fridge because I hate how far it comes out. I ordered a upper fridge / lower freezer model so there will be only one door to open. The problem I saw is you'd have to be standing right in front to open the doors to get food out and that's inconvenient, so a single door swinging right allows you to open it without standing in front of it. The new fridge will be delivered in Monday .

I was going to say check out Samsung they might have them with SS sides. You already have one on the way so, just a thought.

Chef Lisa picked it out (like all the appliances). I finger since she's the one who cooks 95% of the time, whatever she wants. I did however get her LG front loading washer and dryer with the bases because she was bruising her ribs trying to reach in to get the laundry out of the top loader.

Adding insult to injury, I just put the plug on the back of the new induction top range and went to slide it in and it wouldn't fit. FUCK! Then I fingered out the left bottom back was bent out. A little metal rework and she's in. Now I have to adjust the height level with the countertops. I ordered stainless steel for the backsplash behind the cooktop. I was telling Lisa my ass is getting sore from being butt fucked so much today.

I like the SS idea for the backsplash. Where can I get one? My oven looks very similar to yours except a gas burner.

We bought a Hisense. Had good reviews, 2 year warranty, and we bought the extended 5 year warranty. My brother (who's getting the new LG with 5 year extended warranty) is going to trade beef for it. That'll fill up another freezer with beef. You can never have too much beef. 😁

I was at a red light earlier and working before that, when our 33 cubic foot Mega Capacity LG took a crap at 6.5 yrs old even with a 10 yr compressor warranty Out Of Warranty service wanted $250ish to come and give a quote to replace it, wipe your Ass Warranty, 2 appliance repairmen said Whirlpool, GE (which is No Longer GE but Hisense? from China) and IIRC Kitchen Aide were top 3 residential refrig units about 3 yrs ago so I found a S&D GE, Vid had everything on Back Order then, I have been told for a long time Samsung mother boards go bad fairly quick and expensive to replace But if you can do that yourself No Problem, I’ll personally Never buy another LG fridge
