Building Our Barndominium

Those pro-rated, parts only, limited, bs warranties are evil.
I’d of been happy to get the compressor under warranty and install it myself but they wouldn’t do that and when I asked if they had a price for labor to change it they said it’s up to the Tech, I said could it be $1,000-$2,000? She said up to Tech, I said I’m leaving a Very bad review. , that’s when I seen the great reviews from before buying the LG Mega box they were All terrible later

I was at a red light earlier and working before that, when our 33 cubic foot Mega Capacity LG took a crap at 6.5 yrs old even with a 10 yr compressor warranty Out Of Warranty service wanted $250ish to come and give a quote to replace it, wipe your Ass Warranty, 2 appliance repairmen said Whirlpool, GE (which is No Longer GE but Hisense? from China) and IIRC Kitchen Aide were top 3 residential refrig units about 3 yrs ago so I found a S&D GE, Vid had everything on Back Order then, I have been told for a long time Samsung mother boards go bad fairly quick and expensive to replace But if you can do that yourself No Problem, I’ll personally Never buy another LG fridge

I'd just found out there is a class action lawsuit against LG and they are stating that they can't be sued because they put a disclaimer on the box that you had to go through arbitration. What the dumbasses didn't take into consideration is when most appliances are delivered they are unboxed and the customer never sees the disclaimer, and you don't see the disclaimer until after you've bought the fridge, so I already know they lost in court already. We had an LG at the last house and it had a new compressor installed because it was making noise, then that new compressor crapped out, all the food went bad, but luckily I had the extended warranty on it and Lowe's paid for all the lost food and replaced the compressor again. We sold the house with that LG in it, but Lisa liked the fridge so much I figured I'd buy her another, but that was before I knew about the new class action lawsuit against LG for their Linear compressors which are falling now after 3 to 4 years (what the last one died at).

When I looked at Kitchen Aid refers they seemed very expensive for being a Normal fridge and not a Wolf or similar

I also wonder what made your fridge swell like that? I’ve seen the plastic case Trane/American Standard air handlers swell and warp doors when installed on stands in garages, I’ve never installed one though

I once had a nice Whirlpool fridge that the sides warped when I put it in storage a few months and didn't have it plugged in.
It got really hot in storage and I think that's what did it.

I’m thinking the insulation must swell, that’s about all that’s inside the sheet metal between the plastic refer interior

You know there should be BOLD lettering stating if you’re going to store for awhile do it in a climate controlled storage…..IMO Edit and I bet they know it’ll happen

I have a crappy Samsung in the kitchen (I have had to fix it myself) a Whirlpool in the basement (been running for 17 years) and a Whirlpool in the camper, it bounces down the road keeping food cool.

Samsung in the camper I had to add a drain heater, kept freezing up & water was going in a crisper drawer.
