What’d you work on today?

Just a thought, if they implemented a cure, our self control would go out the window. When I see kids in grammar school twice their ideal weight and looking much like their mothers, it disgusts me.

Went to a service call a little while ago, 2000 4 ton Trane with a bad/leaking coil above the gas furnace, outside unit coil is also in bad shape and Spine fin coils are almost impossible to get clean, I was there 1.5 yrs ago and rec’d a new system but was asked Pls just refill the Freon, same thing today, Empty again so I refilled it, 8 lbs 14 oz Freon retailed ($105 lb) $930+ SC $95 so $1,026.87 and they have ac again but I couldn’t guarantee for how long

How much would a replacement be?

Money's tight all over. I suspect you'll be getting alot more calls to bandaid systems rather than replace.

This is my cost for a 4 ton Trane or Comfortmaker systems, I still need to add installation materials, permit and labor

Older units are made better than the newer units, in 2020 I replaced our working hood but mismatched system, 02 or 03 R-22 RHEEM attic air handler and 12/12 Nordyne heat pump and found a 2014 15 SEER heat pump in a showroom in Ga. and the 2015 matching variable speed air handler on the E coast of Fl (Daytona?) new in the box but sitting in the warehouse for 5 yrs, I wanted them because they had Copper coils not new Alum coils and still had the full 10 years parts warranty, copper coils are less prone to leaks and easier to repair if an Idiot Mexican lawn service guy runs into it 😆

Little bit of progress.
Vintage small portable generator finally runs.
Have not tested for output but at least it runs.
Originally paid $10.00 for it, have about $80.00 into it now.
If it makes power I will now have 110V for the back shop.

Finally got the Dellorto carbs for my Ford 1600 engine done.
Now to bolt them back on and run the engine until warm for a real compression test.
Plan is to put it into my Morris Minor pickup but if it turns out to need a rebuild I may use one of the Buick V6's instead.
With the frame mods I am doing I could put just about anything reasonable into it.

3800 V6 with a SC would be a cool engine for the MM pick up

Going to put the trans cooler against the ac condenser, I pulled the stack plate cooler from an early 2000’s Trail Blazer with a Tow package and IIRC that’s how it was mounted, seems like the ac cond would heat the cooler but GM engineers know what they’re doing 🙄,,,,I guess lol, I did have it mounted on the Pass side but the ac drier needed that space, think I already wrote about doing this but just getting around to it
