What’d you work on today?

Agreed. I like the more modern styling of the 67 front and taillights. Everyone loves 70s as do I and also 65s.
I've had a 66 and now a 67. I liked the 66 taillights better but love both 66 and 67.
I was on the showroom floor at "Jim Reed Chevrolet" in Nashville in 1970 looking at a green SS396 and a red SS454. They were beautiful cars !
They also had a green Corvette LT1 sitting there for $6300 !

Chevy made the beautiful '66 into a wimpy looking compliant car in '67, then scrapped that in favor of the much more sexy and sleek '68 body style. I will say the '67 tail lights and the introduction of disc brakes as an option was a step forward, but that's only a consolation prize for pitty sake.

Still "Light Duty" so only spent a short time on the Lathe today.
Cannot find a source for correct tube needed to fab some engine and transmission mounts with Poly bushes.
So I am having to make it from very heavy tube I had laying around.
A slow chore but the 1.55" OD is done.
I will cut to length before boring for 1.15" ID.
This will give me the .010" snug fit I demand.
Then the next chore becomes the sleeves for the inside.
Smallest Energy Suspension sells are 1/2" ID, I need 7/16" and 10mm.
So I will be boring our 3/4" stainless to fit.
Good thing I have the old South Bend Lathe!

Also head rests we’re an option in 67, maybe 66 too?

I did another load of leaves to the brush site, caught up laundry, Kathy can’t do that anymore and my dad had an appliance store when I was a kid and we Test Drove washers & dryers and he had contracts for laundry mat repairs so doing laundry is nothing new lol, Folding is another matter 😳😆

We got the front sheetmetal and bumpers hung on it. Fenders are NOS that have been primed. Hood is a really nice early domed SS hood.

Grille and rear bumper are from a Malibu. We think some of the parts were taken with another SS car he sold several years ago.

68 is "more sexy ?" LOL
I know of several people who traded in their 68's and went and bought back a 66 or 67.

That's only proof that they couldn't handle the higher class of people that the '68 drew so they backed off the social go-pedal. They'd have to wait a couple years till the '70 arrived and they'd fit back in.

Replaced a Honeywell Dehumidifier we installed along with a new heat pump system a cpl years ago, owner has another home in NC with the same model unit and last year had to have it replaced so IMHO they’re Junk, model # DR65A3000 Edit they work good for 2 years then the refrig circuit springs a leak, it was replaced under warranty but cost owner $750 labor

69>66/68>71>67>73>72>65>70>64.......and the ride got better each year in factory form. Imo, the '69 300 is the most attractive interior. All kidding aside, my opinion is based half on what's in front of me, the other half on pre-license history, riding in adult's hotrods and building models. Big blind impact.

67,70,68,69,64,66,71/72/73. In all honesty I like most years of Chevelle's, but didn't much care for the changes the newer they got after '70. Growing up having a gearhead next door neighbor who had a '67 helped immensely. I'd just sneak over to his garage and watch/help/learn. This was around '73 and going for rides in it was a huge thrill. He'd just smile when he saw my eyes get wide when he lit the tires and we'd take off like a shot. You can't buy those kind of memories.
