A lot of parts stores quit offering lifetime warranties because of people like me.
Last Saturday I bought an old Sears GT18 lawn tractor that included a rear mount blade and disc plow in addition to the mowing deck.
I may have overpaid a bit but accessories often cost as much or more than the tractor.
I got it to run on Sunday but it ran weakly and erratically.
Today I fixed that by cleaning the carb and MOST importantly fixing the intake manifold leak using home made gaskets.
A clue to the problem was apparent when one cylinder ran normal and the other barely generated exhaust heat.
A short spray of ether would cause the rear cylinder to accelerate.
Now if I can find another headlamp bulb, or LED upgrade, I will finally be able to get the weeds under control!
My Cub Cadet with a Kohler 26 HP has been running poorly. I bought a carb for it, has 500 hrs on it and never messed with. OMG, the thing is so hard to work on. I took the linkage apart and now I need to figure out how it goes back together.
Yup, it all blew apart so fast. I do have a service manual picture and parts diagram. There is no reason for a carb replacement on a mower to be so difficult,^^^ yes, yes, yes! I started doing this fairly recently as my pride ruled before that. I just don't get back to the reassemble as quickly as in the past.......that and CRS.
And to your Cadet, engineering isn't concerned with the DIYer making sense of it, so simple isn't a thing anymore.

What's the difference between '20', and '16'?? If they're the same, why not 2x 16s???? Computer design, and they think differently than most people.
I think this part is back together, took it off the mower. Now to remount it and figure out springs, I have 4 that need to go somewhere. 27 and 10 are the ones I need to study up.
The manual transfer switch is installed !
This is the switch that goes from utility power to solar power.
Need to install one more BMS (battery management system) and then it's time to boot the (solar) system up.
Very nervous about throwing the final switch ! LOL
Wow 1500 ? I have about 1/2 of that (3 X 280 theoretically)Long as you wired correctly you have nothing to worry about. I'm top balancing a new battery I just bought and will put it online on Saturday (for a total of 1,500 ah).
