Don't know how this happened...

I was doing a couple oil changes/front end lubes this morning, when my right foot started hurting. I didn't hit it on anything, I didn't twist it, and I didn't jump off of anything. I have bascially been walking on the ball of my foot for most of the day.

Looks like Plantar Fasciitian. Hurts like hell on your instep right?
I’ve had it and bought a boot for it that didn’t work.
It went away about a week later. I can still feel it just looking at it.

Not on the instep - in the heel.

When you said you were walking on the ball of your foot I thought it was Plantar Fasciitian. That’s what I had to do when I had it.
Don’t know?

It is most likely Plantar Fasciitis, but the pain usually exhibits itself in the heel in most patients (which is what I am expericing). Interestingly, it can be caused by nerve compression in the back, and my adjustments have not been working lately. I got adjusted today, so we will see if anything improves by tomorrow. I need to see if I have any heel cups to put in my boots.

I've had that before and it was the new sneakers I'd just started wearing. I like you was walking on the ball of my foot as the planter fasciitis was quite painful. I'm betting something in your shoe / sock wear has changed ever so slightly.

I had it for years when I was working & walking on cement floor for 12 hr. shifts. The first step when you get out of bed is the worst. Ice the hell out of it & I put some of these or similar in my shoes.

I have similar insoles from Red Wing Shoes now, and I don't think they are working very well.

Would soaking in Epsom Salts help? Damn that sounds painfull and being a working tradesman that has to really suck, I’m sure you already use good insoles in your shoes

I have intermittently had this condition over the years, no rhyme or reason to it. it lasts from a few days to as long as a month. I went to a podiatrist once, by the time I got the appt it had stopped, so they were not able to tell anything. Nothing alleviates it, it goews away whne its ready, and if you'll excuase the pun, I just walk it off. Sucks, but so do lots of other things in this world, and I have a life to live.
You are right about the first step, though!

Mine started a few years after working in the paper mill, we had to push rolls of paper & if you push hard while up on your toes it tends to over stretch the ligaments in your feet. Kind of like pushing a car.

I don't know that it looks better, but at least I can put weight on it again. I have some arch supports on the way, along with some arch support flip flops (they are my go to footwear in the house year round).

Still looks a bit inflamed, but only baby it as long as you need to. Mine went on for some time and changing the way I walked put undue stress on my knees and hips and I could feel it.

My right calf has been getting quite the workout.

I had that 2 years ago but I found the fix, but you ain't gonna like it much. What I did after no one could help was to, sit on the couch, then I used and old belt that I looped it together, put it on the bottom side of my toes and pulled the belt forward, but damn did that hurt but it worked. That and taking your foot, then putting it up to a wall and bending it forward to stretch the heel area out. After 6 months of doing this the planters faucitis is gone, but damn it is painful. Hope yours gets better soon.
