I’ve had it and bought a boot for it that didn’t work.
It went away about a week later. I can still feel it just looking at it.
When you said you were walking on the ball of your foot I thought it was Plantar Fasciitian. That’s what I had to do when I had it.

I had it for years when I was working & walking on cement floor for 12 hr. shifts. The first step when you get out of bed is the worst. Ice the hell out of it & I put some of these or similar in my shoes.

Have you iced them? Have to do it just about till you have frostbite.
Still looks a bit inflamed, but only baby it as long as you need to. Mine went on for some time and changing the way I walked put undue stress on my knees and hips and I could feel it.
