I used some stainless TSP Fbody 1 7/8 headers and TSP rumbler exhaust. Found it new in the box from a military guy that was being deployed and needed money quick. I paid 400 for them I lucked out.Yep, that is the next thing I am worried about. 350 for the headers is a lot less than 1200ish for the Hooker ones but we will see!
Lol just wanting the swap to go smoothly as possible. Sucks doing things twice.Dude I shit you not you got me so worried I went and it took me litearlly 2 seconds to slip the drivers side in from the bottom. Plenty of space!
Hahah yea for sure, I want all the criticism and help I can get here so I appreciate it!Lol just wanting the swap to go smoothly as possible. Sucks doing things twice.
Yea at this point I have some clearance which is good but I would feel better with a little more. I was thinking, space it up more, that is really all I can do at this point. I will call speed engineering later today and just see what they say again but I am not expecting anything.Glad you got the engine in. I'd be a bit concerned with that little of clearance. Keep an eye on it as the engine will settle a bit.
Today I thought, well I have some more shims that came with the kit let's put them all in and see if it helps. Well it gets the engine up high enough but now the bolts do not go into the frame mounts. Ugh, anyway, you guys were right, for the 100 dollars Holley would have been the way to go. I called speed engineering and they pretty much just said well if it is new return it but man, it is banged up from trying to get it to fit at this point, they won't take it back. Anyway, I will try and fiddle with the shims a little more but that is my final though on the situation.
I would darn near have to take the engine out to do that, I am just going to leave the clearance that I have and be done with it, I have been fiddling with this for 4 days I am exhausted. Unreal, I wish I could throw this thing through their window lol!Elongate the holes just a little and it should fit.

Haha you can sense my frustrationTake a break for a day or two, refocus and then get back to it.
If you get too pissed off you'll rush.
Not trying to tell you what to do obviously, but if it were me, a "pound of prevention" could save you monumental headaches later when it's all put together.... just sayin'.

You will get it, hang in there.
