What’d you work on today?

What you don't want to eat something that's been Pumped up with Who Know's What from the grocery store? Crap that the Gob't is putting in Chickens, Cows, Wheat etc. I'm 1,000% sure causing strange side effects, Smart people Not eating Gob't Vaccinated foods (y) (y)
Unless you process your own chickens it is hard to find a place to do it. We do it for the eggs. At least chickens lay for several years, if you kill a hen to eat it you lose egg production. I may get tired of them but in a SHTF scenario eggs will keep you alive. Old birds are good for stew, may come to that although my broody hens are older. Funny thing is hens will lay where a broody hen is when she leaves to go and eat. She is basically the surrogate warming blanket.

I have an older bird that a hawk injured, she is blind. I don't have the heart to off her. She is in the pen with my 3 that are a few weeks old and do not need heat lamp warmth.

I've seen Hawks eyeing our Chihuahuas before so I keep a few throwables around in the yard, I think the first thing they do is blind their prey, when I was growing up in Oh my Gparents on moms side grew and raised, canned, hunted, fished, trapped most of what we ate, they both passed away in their 90's and was hardly ever sick and never had any major health problems

Only critter I had eyeing a dog was when a cayote was stalking my elderly dachshund years ago.

Hawks fly around, we have lost a few birds because of them.

I fitted the two new Dynacon front fenders on my '70 Elky project today. They came from two different suppliers and one appears to be older than the other, but same part#. To my absolute amazement, the right side literally fell onto the car! No shim at the cowl and firewall bolts, and a small one at the 'a' pillar to bring it out a bit. The left side took a bit of work, but not a lot. It has shims on cowl, firewall and 'a' pillar but not a lot. The gap is good except at the top, it is too wide. Anything I did to close it took the other dimensions out of whack. I'm gonna sleep on it, and I bet next weekend when I look at it, I'll be able to tell what I need to do. The pics are of the right side.

After 2 years of looking, I found a nice flat hood for $200 and bought it. Last week, a friend offered me a Goodmark repro cowl hood, prepped and primed and ready to spray, with the underside already in underhood black. It was on another friend's car, in the booth, tacked down and ready to paint, when he decided he wanted an early style with the different sized openings underneath, since his '70 is an early car. He found an NOS one for an amount that he did not dislose and used it. The price on this... $300!! It'll save me that much on prep time alone, I just need the inner and outer door and hardware. I really wanted a cowl hood anyway, so I took this as a sign!

Been working on the dash of the '66 for a couple days now, finally done. I restored the steering wheel, then added the 4 piece chrome set for the dash. Had these pieces sitting around for a few years, not wanting to destroy the patina of that awesome '66 dash. I also replaced the pioneer with a Automatic Radio underdash unit. It was NOS, bought it at a swap several years back, replaced the belt for good measure and it works flawlessly. No matchbooks required!

Looks like the same color as my old 64 Belair 4 door, that went to heaven a long time ago.

I pulled the ill fitting left front fender off my Elky today, I had to remove the upper hinge for a new pin and bushing. Easy enough, and I marked everything so the hinge would go back on te same way I took it off. The door was closed and latched and the bottom hinge was on, so I anticipated no problems. Au contraire!! It would not even latch. After jacking around with it for a while, I realized that the prior owner had adjusted it to compensate for the saggy hinge, so I removed the striker and loosed the up and down bolts on the hinge, and wedged it with paint sticks to set the bottom and side gaps. The in and out adjustment at the top was ok, so I locked the hinge bolts down and reinstalled the striker, and with a few trial end error adjustments, I've got the door opening and closing with 2 fingers, as it should be.

I reinstalled the fender and immediately saw what my error had been last week. I loosened up the core support bolt and pushed the support back a bit and shimmed it up what my friend Gary calls an RCH (royal cunt hair!) and it closed the gap perfectly. I have to reiterate, these repro fenders are REALLY nice and an excellent fit.

I gruond down some places where I'd welded up the trim holes and spotted them with rattle cap primer to prevent rust. All in all, a good day.

I'm off to the back pation with a cigar and a Yuengling!

I never knew there was "royal cunt hair" but I suppose if it's attached to royalty that fits. I've only ever associated with just regular cunt hair.

Well, according to Gary, who has travelled the work and drank all different kinds of beer, he pickd that saying up in England. Apparently it is of a finer grade more suitable for measuring tighter tolerances that the common kind. I defer to his judgement on such matter :)
Probably more fun to acquire than buying Plastigage!

I guess we'll have to adopt Gary's knowledge and expertise. I'm all for acquiring new tools, although Lisa just said if I were to acquire that new tool, she'll remove my tool. ;)

This actually was yesterday, my good friend that was a pro auto painter painted my Shovelhead 20+ yrs ago and painted my TwinCam in 06 had an AC issue on their 2005 central system that was the old R22 Freon and was starting to have leaks, this leak was a rusted accumulator and rather than waste $$ his wife and him decided on a new 2.5 ton (3 ton air handler) 15.2 SEER Comfortmaker heat pump split system, they both were at work when we changed the system so when we finished I texted her and asked what temp to set the Tstat? She said we leave it at 76*, so later in the evening I went over there to go over things and get a check and they said 76* is Too Cold 😆 I explained the new system removes humidity Way better than the old 13 SEER system so it looks like their new set temp is 77*, new system called for 12* Sub Cooling temp +\-3* 👍👍🙂

Did a repair for another regular customer today, I didn’t think to ask if I could take a pic of his C6 with a crate Vette all forged engine, SC and putting 750hp to the rear wheels but I did get his AC fixed lol, 2010 system that someone else installed and I replaced the evap coil a cpl yrs ago and had to replace a filter drier today, maybe I should have changed it when I did the evap coil?

Worked on getting that clear plastic broken plug out of my float bowl, easy out wouldn’t do it so drilled a little smaller than threads then picked with my pocket knife then used a thread chaser at the auto parts store parking lot sitting in my van in ac 😁 then went back and put the new Blue gasket on and set my 1/4” Tq wrench to 26/27 inch lbs and went round like torqueing a wheel, went to swap FP and found my almost new pump has 3/8” In/Out while the pump on the engines larger ports so I’m reducing down to 3/8” for now and it’s only 3/8” from the tank right now anyway but the pump PR was fighting me so I called it a day 👍🙂

I put the Holley 12-454-13 FP back in since I really don’t think that was the problem, I looked at both ends of the Howard’s 5.75” FP PR and looked fine so put Moly lube on the up end pushed it up in place then put Moly on the lever arm on FP, High Tack on the pump for the gasket to stick to, Perspex white PTFE thread sealer on the bolts and the PR threaded plug then put the plug in, pump in, Viper thread sealer on threaded fittings for fuel lines into FP and regulator then went to start it and battery was too low 😆 it’s on a charger now and I’ll either go back later or tomorrow between work and check for leaks 👍🙂

Had some issues with the timing of the '66, always timed by ear and feel but when I removed the engine for the clutch replacement, clean up and new paint, I used a dead stop to locate TDC, which was approx. 16 degrees off.......the reason why I never used a timing light. This may be due to the Scat crank and factory balancer. I never verified tdc during the assembly....duh. Anyway, a few days ago I got to moving the timing around when major bad noises came from the starter.....so I tried to bump the engine by breaker bar on the balancer bolt, no giv. So I pulled the plugs and tried again, no giv. Finally I decided to bust the starter loose, and found this.......chinese crap!!
Motor spins nicely now, but waiting on a starter. Very frustrating as I'm just trying to wring out some issues before I list it for sale and fighting the clock a bit trying to list it before the summer.
