Getting ready to bust up half my driveway to run a new line. Lots of complications here and contractors can't be found. Gonna try a 12lb sledge and play John Henry this weekend.
If you have a Bosch hammer drill, this chisel bit is awesome at penetrating and breaking up a hard surface.Dug a couple explore holes to locate my water service line, sprung a leak it's under the driveway pad naturally. They work great for a heavy hammer drill, such as a "macho"..... but when you're talking hundreds of sq. ft., not so much. I busted up a few sq. ft. sat morning with a 10lb sledge, then quickly ran in the house to scope out more concrete contractors. First one was a hit, he came over and agreed to tackle the job, we have a contract heading this way and hopefully his crew will be here tuesday to break it up. Then I'll have to ditch witch 100 ft and lay some wirsbo, test, then schedule the pour. I realized I'm not 30 anymore!!

Yessir! Out of a bit of desperation, I dug up a old receipt of the guy that busted up my driveway 27 yrs back. He was in his late 20s then, and swung a 12lb hammer and hand loaded all the chunks in his flatbed over the course of 6 hours, probably 800 sq. ft. Dude was a stallion. Surpriseingly, he's still doing concrete work, just not flatwork. He remembered my job, laughed, then said...."yeah, I wore younger man's clothes back then"......so true of all us. I did sheetrock the lid of the garage in my investment house last year by myself with nothing more than a ladder and a t-pole......won't even do that again.
Just went with Lisa to her checkup from the brain surgery last year (yes, it's been just a little over a year), and Dr. Guerrero viewed her MRI and gave her a clean bill of health and scheduled an appointment for 2 years just to keep check on her. This Dr is one of the best we've ever had the pleasure to have known, and he was personally invested in helping Lisa. A true gift from God.
