What’d you work on today?

Edit my 7yr old Gson is a 24yr old Marine now 🙂
I should say last time she sent me a text she didnt ask for anything but sent a cpl pics of my Gson in his dress blues, because of BS between my ex, daughter I havent seen the kids since they were 5&7, Fd up

I've been free for two years and mine reaches out from time to time with some bullshit. She sent a text this am reminding me that today would have been our 33rd anniversary, and I'd completely forgotten. Thankfully, she is 1,000 miles away without the means to come here to visit.

I've been free from my ex for 37 years and she never reaches out to me anymore since my kids with her are in their late 30s and early 40s. I don't remember when our anniversary was and don't give a shit.

Last time I saw her (or had interaction with her) was at my daughter's RN pinning. If I never see her again, that'll still be too soon.

Yesterday was one of those days, minor stuff in the grans scheme of things but a PITRA anyway.

Besides seeming to misplace everything I went to plow the garden, first couple passes were fine but I noticed the plow twist. I looked down and a 3 point draft arm was broken. CRAP!! Most have cracked years ago and was welded.

I had some arms from the lift kit that I bought and fought and struggled to make them work, I fought and struggled but they were just not the correct size. I have not purchased a good welding machine so I called down to the house at the end of the drive, one of their boys is a welder. Long story short he fixed me up and I put the part back on, hooked up the tiller and tilled what was plowed. I need to plow some more but it is raining today.

Sometimes you're the bug, and sometimes you're the windshield.

Time for an upgrade which requires a retrofit..... This is the 3rd set of lead acid golf cart batteries (and last) since I changed out and rebuilt my zero turn as an all electric monster.

I'll be upgrading to three (3) 12v 300ah LiFePo4 batteries (removed from the battle cruiser) in series to give me 36v @ 300ah to power the 22hp electric motor. The zero turn is a 50" cut and was a craftsman model made by another manufacturer, but it's a Kevin special now.

She's been running electric for 15 years, and with this battery upgrade hopefully give me another 15 years (and no more battery replacements).

Right now I'm putting baking soda on all the deck metal to make sure I've neutralized any acids that may have spilled over the years. Lisa's electric utility cart (EZGO XT-500) will be getting the same upgrade, but that'll be a thread all on its own as that's going to require welding a frame extension to fit these enormous batteries. I have two (2) more of the 12v 300ah from the battle cruiser, and will have to buy another. When I bought these for the battle cruiser they cost $1k each (5 total), and now they are down to $750 each, but I should never have to replace these batteries again.

They ain't givin' them away, but the the cost of a deep cycle lifepo4 is 1/3 or more of the price lead acid these days, and given they last 10 times longer it's kinda stupid not to buy them.

Neighbors have been giving me loads of SH!T all morning!
I've been spreading it around.
The area between the fence and my fruit trees should be almost decent soil by next year?
May need to add some sand, what I am starting with is clay and alkali from an ancient lake bed.

My 90 year old parents golf cart had a flat. They ordered 4 new wheels and tires for it so I loaded a jack in the car, grabbed an impact and socket and headed to their house. Easy replacement, one tire was completely worn out. While there I greased it and added water to the batteries. Dad could not believe it did not take a long time, Piece of cake.

Does this look right? This is allegedly a later model Chevelle front brake setup I’ve had on a 67. I bought new hoses when I think are from a 69. Seems like once you put the crush washers on, there isn’t a ton of thread to go into the caliper. I believe these bolts are 7/16th-20 and 7/8th inch long. IMG_3943.jpegIMG_3944.jpeg

When I looked up banjo bolts on a parts site they listed them as being “69-77” so presumably they are supposed to be all the same.

Bought this years sprouted plants.
A bit early but they always sell out quick.
Couple types bell pepper, sweet banana peppers ,three types of squash.
Mint, strawberries, and rhubarb came back strong from planting three years ago.
Cherry trees have blossoms for the first time since I planted them, maybe I will get a few.

I’ve gone away from buying plants because they got so expensive. I’ve been trying to grow stuff from seeds. I never had great luck with bell peppers. If you were to spend 3.50 for a plant at Home Depot, I’d have a hard time breaking even on that investment. But I’ve had good luck growing tomatoes and jalapeños and herbs and such from seed, even ones a decade old.

I don't have one in front of me, but it looks way short. Rule of thumb is bolt diameter plus 3 threads of thread depth.

Gave up on seeds.
Even when they do germinate I seem to get runty plants or they just die as soon as they are planted.
If I have to wait until our weather is completely "Safe" around mid-May the growing season is too short.

I wish I could get loads of cow shit to start a garden area.
Nothing but clay and rocks where I live.
The top 3" of soil is ok. Grass and trees seem to do fine. But potatos ? I doubt they could grow
