I admit I decided to not say anything although I wanted to! It’s really about free speech when it gets down to it. Bench Racing sub forum is for anything, or it used to be, right? Not anymore! We have a stolen election in 2020 and we can’t say “one word” about it on TC! Now that’s just plain wrong IMO! It was back when they folded to woke liberal pressure and it’s still wrong! We’re all grownups and can easily comply with keeping off car topic discussions on a separate sub-form but that wasn’t good enough!

In the 80's I always had friends just drop by my house to see what was going on in my garage, messing around with a Harley, a clunker I bought cheap, my 73 Elky with a 70 454/467 and we talked about engines, trans, car parts, what's for sale in Auto Trader and what we could afford to buy and then every once in a while politics would come up AFTER talking about PAY, How do you NOT talk about politics if you're talking about Minimum Wage etc.? at the time I was doing OK working for a Union Jman that opened his own Non Union electrical company under another Union Master lic. holder friend of his, he also would stop by and Shoot the Shit, we didn't talk much politics But still we talked Some, And Nobody ever got into an Argument, not about politics anyway, one neighbor owned the Electric (ICE) Banana Swamp Buggy that him and his dad raced in Naples and drove it over the top of a car I was scrapping and we thought it was hilarious but another neighbor didn't, I think that was the only argument around there in roughly 10 years

That's the point I made on OCS long ago when CE was still active. How can anyone not talk about the current policies and politics given the climate we're in since is affects every aspect of our lives now? It's impossible. Even when I went to client sites I never talked politics given the possible disagreements, but what I found is 80%+ of people share the same values and they all had different degrees of education, but one thing remained a constant.... we all had opinions and as long as you didn't shove it in someone's face, everyone could express themselves without arguing. Not now, it's gotten so bad that both sides of the isle have their extremes and that's what we're facing now.
I can't see how we can ever get back to a more centrist position given the political climate has been allowed to run rampant without any checks.
