As of now I hate to say I think it is coming out again, at least up a little to get some spacers in there.Yea. You definitely don't want it resting on the frame. Maybe some spacers under the mounts.
I think that is possible but it seems so small that I think I can tweak the engine a little or even just grind a little off the tie rod and it would be good. For the tie-rods, can the idler arm be lowered slightly where it bolts to the frame ?

Great idea. I am going to investigate further after work. It seems like I just needs a little bit, 1/8 inch maybe.I'd add washers to lift the engine a hair and keep the remaining parts as stock as possible.
I think it's $100 cheaper than the holley. ($265 vs $365)How much was that pan?
I hear stories that they are not the same but haven't seen them side by side. I do know I had zero issues with my holley in my 67. I think the spacers will fix your problem.@Nashville Cat is correct, 100 dollars.
I just got off the phone with speed engineering and there were a lot of ummms, but he said try the spacers that will probably take care of it. I still think I would have had the same issues with the holley one but unless someone wants to buy me one so I can try I guess we will never know!
Yep so for the 100 dollars you just have to say is it worth the gamble?? Hindsight ehhh I said I am okay with it but really I think I would just go with the holley becuase I am 50 bucks in on these spacers (found them cheaper on amazon). But like you said if you had 0 issues in your 67 then based on that I would just pay the 100 extra!I hear stories that they are not the same but haven't seen them side by side. I think you are close enough it will work out, just a bit more labor.Yep so for the 100 dollars you just have to say is it worth the gamble?? Yea for sure, I just want to make sure that we all (and anyone else) gets the truth! I was hoping for a better report for those speed engineering guys but so far it is a little mixed! I wish I had more cash to play with I would pull the engine out and try the holley pan!!! I am very curious!I respect your candid honesty.
