The 09 Ram brakes are a piece of cake to do, Anti Lock brakes always intimidated me so I stayed away from messing with them, I went with middle of the road semi metallic at $109 with anti rattle clips from ORiellys

New battery and hose for the generator.
Fires right up, then dies.
Has to be something simple, there is nothing complex about any of it.
Propane and magneto ignition.
May just be that the bottle is low?

Resprayed the trunk lid and the other door. I had some things to fix, plus I wanted to make sure the color covered evenly so I re-based both pieces and then 3 coats of clear.
Again orange peel is inconsistent but better than my earlier efforts by a long shot.
I purposefully sprayed them flat instead of hanging so the paint could flow out and hopefully not run, but it means I’ll have to reclear the flip side later.
temps are dropping and I used mostly slow activator so I’m hoping it’ll continue to level out even more.

Installed the rebuilt single Weber on the race buggy.
My type 4 engine buggy with a center mount carb has the dreaded "Flat spot" just off idle.
This mostly comes down to two issues.
Lack of a vacuum advance distributor, and a cold long runner intake as it gets no heat from the engine.
Distributor is a simple change, but a heated base is not.
I clearly remember the old Pinto?, Vega?, Datsun? having an electric heating element that fit under the Weber DGAV/DFEV two barrel progressive carb.
One of those would be a great addition to the buggy, particularly in winter.
I just need a reminder for what car used it, and to then find one.

Spare tire carrier had several cracks or missing pieces. Glassed, block sanded down to 220 then rubbed some resin over the entire thing. This pic is after cure, and for my tastes far too glossy. Have to play with it tomorrow and see if some steel wool can get it to where I want. ...... and due to the sun rolling over on us, I put the jeep top back on, heater works really good.

And here I thought I was one of the only ones to play a song in a loop when I was working and in the zone. Stranglehold is one of Lisa's favorites by Ted.

Derek, was he in a wheelchair?
Yes, he broke his back in 1985 when he rolled over a Bronco II

He went to Chevelle-abration quite a few times, and stayed at the Red Roof with the Heartland guys out of Nebraska.
He also went to the Northern Ohio and Kansas CIty regional ACES shows multiple times.

He was a great friend, and I miss him a lot. Answering his phone call was a 2hr commitment.
He had a lot of health problems, and my old house was on his way home from Mayo Clinic... We spent many a week night sitting in my driveway with a case of beer on the ground between us. About 2am I'd have to say "Dan, I gotta get up for work in 4 hours"
After I moved to my new place, I didn't see him as often anymore, and when COVID hit he stayed in his winter home in Alabama and didn't come back up to Iowa.

His number is still in my phone, and I'd sure like one of those 2hr phone calls again.

But you have the memories that no one can take from you, and as long as you remember he'll always be there. Sorry for the loss.

Thanks Derek, I remember him well from Chevelleabrations past.
I've always heard that as long as a man's name is spoke, he is never dead. I think when I go outside with my scotch and cigar tonight, I'll lift the glass to my friend Joe Elwood, who was as my dad was fond of saying, "one of gods noble creatures" :)

Working on Megan’s mini split heat pumps, upstairs layout and roof is a little different than what I’m use to working with so after 2 layouts I figured what will work best and where to locate the 2 indoor, 1 outdoor units since installation instr say to Not go over 60’ for both refrigeration lines, it’ll be close and I’ll add some 410a if needed, original layout would’ve been nice for electric since breaker box was within 8’ of outdoor unit but had to move outdoor unit towards front of the house and ran 40’ 1/2” gray PVC with 3 sweep 90*’s and 2 LB’s, oh well it’ll work the way it’s designed to 👍👍🙂 Oh and I’m not used to this temp at 7:15am lol

That's a big front porch and it'll be great for sipping lemonade (or adult beverages) on those hot summer days.

Yeah, 41 is a bit on the cold side for me. I'd be shivering in my tee shirt and shorts.
