What’d you work on today?

It's like a mini dormered roof to divert the water away from the chimney or stack.

You know in 2006 when an old (30ish year) roofing contractor friend did our roof I asked him if I needed to build a bigger cricket behind the chimney and he said No I’m using Blah Blah and it’s not needed, I worked in framing a few yrs and knew how to make a cricket, wish I would’ve hell I actually wish I’d hired somebody else, Nothing but problems, 3rd roofer stoped the leak, Kathy said “If you hire someone else you know I’m Shooting You!!” I’m not kidding that’s really what she said while crying, and she knew the roofer about as long as I have, it was a real mess, guys I met on 1 of my jobs (Mexicans) Fixed it from leaking, talk about feeling like Shit when you’re in a building trade and the roofer you think is Good really Sucks, I had my tail between my legs till it was Correctly fix

Ford Kent 1600 is ALIVE!
Had some trouble getting the Pertronix to work, ended up advancing the distributor one tooth.
Need to complete wiring up the test stand so that I have a fan switch, set up the tach, etc.
Once I've been able to set up the tune and run the engine awhile I will do another compression check and hope all four are within 10%.
Really do not want to have to rebuild this engine.
Not just the expense, the WAIT for machine shops is ridiculous now.

I had a Flutering timing with a PerTronix dist due to the weights backwards or upside down, they were fine for Pontiac IIRC but I ordered BBC, just a little info

Mine is a retrofit to the original distributor.
Pertronix says you may need more advance than with a standard unit.
Seems the rotor may have been too far past the distributor contacts.
Now I need to look up what timing really should be set at.

Up late, just got back from taking Mom to the emergency room when her blood pressure hit 195 over 112.
Looking on-line says that is a dial 911 type emergency.
We are rural, 911 ambulance takes longer than my just driving her into town.
Dr's ran some test and sent her home, said lots of people live with BP over 200.
We will be seeing a regular doctor on Tuesday.

My Mom is having the same problem. She is hovering around 200 / 110. Her potassium levels are too low and the doctor tells her to use regular table salt instead of sea salt on her food, but her husband died a few days ago and she's not been eating much.

Potassium is critical for older folks, so yes to the banana. As far as the sea salt.....I did a bit of research on salts, and there's reportedly the best salt "mine" in Utah that I get natural salt in bulk from. They claim that iodized salt actually penetrates into your cells in a less beneficial way than natural salt meaning less is more. Just had my thyroid tested and results should be soon.
One thing that is rarely emphasized is nitric oxide natural and otc. Naturally produced is critical but older folks just don't move enough to get it and it will enlarge your blood vessels which is again, critical.

Lisa is on medication because her thyroid is off, but we'll wait to see what the doc has to say about my Mom. Seemed most of the ailments Lisa has now came around the time of her brain surgery. Don't care, she's alive, doing fine, and still with me. Whatever comes we'll face it together. She's the best part of me and I'm not ready for it to be over anytime soon. I'd like at least another 20 to 40 years with her, but God's got the plan and I'm just a nobody.
